SUBJECT: Request for a Visit in Solidarity with Palestine
Dear Excellency Ambassador,
We, as ‘doctors standing against oppression’ are a civil initiative platform, founded by a
group of physicians from Türkiye, with the aim of speaking up for those who are under
oppression no matter which creed, language, race or gender they came up with.
As individuals dedicated to preserving human lives, the painful images emanating from
Gaza have wounded us profoundly. In response, we issued a statement in November 17, 2023
characterising the situation as genocide- aligning with your stance- to raise public awareness
and advocate for preventive measures. We deeply admire and applaud the principled stance
that South Africa has taken solidarity with Palestine. This courageous and significant step has
the potential to contribute to justice for the Palestinian people and foster peace in the world.
The unwavering commitment of your nation to the right side of history has not gone
unnoticed, and we extend our heartfelt appreciation. Your continued dedication will
undoubtedly be remembered for centuries to come. We are grateful for your inspiring
leadership and express our sincere gratitude to South African embassy.
In line with our shared commitment to justice and human rights, we would like to propose a
visit to your Excellency with a small delegation representing ‘doctors standing against
oppression’. We kindly request your guidance on the most appropriate time for our visit and
assure you that we are available at your convenience.
